Friends of Hollycroft Park, - Child Safety Policy
Adopted on Sept 15th 2008.
The Friends of Hollycroft Park :-
Treat all children with respect and dignity.
Provide an example of good conduct that we wish others to follow.
Ensure that there are at least two adults present during activities with children.
Respect personal privacy
Ensure that another adult is informed if a ‘Friend’ needs to take a child to the
toilet. Be aware that physical contact with a child may be misinterpreted.
Challenge unacceptable behaviour and report all allegations/suspicions of
abuse. Recognise that special caution is required in moments when discussing
sensitive issues with children.
And will not :-
Ever hit a child. Play rough, physical or sexually provocative games. Touch inappropriately or obtrusively. Show favouritism to any one child.
Give lifts to children unaccompanied. If this is unavoidable ask the child to sit
in the back seat. Invite a child to a ‘Friends’ home alone.
Permit abusive peer activities e.g. initiation ceremonies, ridiculing, bullying.
Allow unknown adults access to children. A known adult should always
accompany visitors.
